ScreenCraft's New Editor and Social Media Manager Announces Exciting Blog and Hollywood News Updates

by Ken Miyamoto on August 17, 2015

I'm humbled, honored, and excited to introduce myself, Ken Miyamoto, as ScreenCraft's new website editor and social media manager. I'm no stranger to the excellent work ScreenCraft has done and continues to do for screenwriters worldwide. Just last year, I was the Grand Prize Winner of the ScreenCraft Action & Thriller Script Contest for my script The Enemy Within. It was an amazing experience and opened many more doors in my screenwriting career, which continues today and beyond.

My background is unique in the fact that I've worked on both sides of the film and television industry table as a screenwriter, and on the studio ends of things as a former studio liaison for Sony Studios, where I worked directly with incoming film and television productions, studio-based production companies (Adam Sandler's Happy Madison, Sam Raimi's Ghost House Pictures, Laura Ziskin Productions, Escape Artists, etc.), studio executives, and visiting talent. I then transitioned into development as a script reader and story analyst for Sony Pictures under the late John Calley's production wing.

I eventually focused on my own screenwriting career, leading to multiple studio meetings at Disney, Sony, Universal, Warner Brothers, and Dreamworks. I was fortunate enough to sign a deal with Lionsgate and was eventually assigned to a couple of studio writing assignments, one of which was produced as the miniseries Blackout starring Anne Heche, James Brolin, Eric La Salle, Bruce Boxleitner, etc.

I've also dedicated much of my time to mentoring screenwriters through speaking engagements, workshops, and as a Top Writer on the amazing question and answer site Quora, which I highly recommend to all.

My screenwriting journey continues, but I'm most excited about joining the ScreenCraft team!
