News: "The Amazing Spider-Man" Director Secures Next Two Films

by Ken Miyamoto on August 17, 2015

"The Amazing Spider-Man" director Marc Webb is teaming with Chris Evans (set to star) in "Gifted" at Fox Searchlight. The story follows a man who sues for custody of his gifted niece. Production will begin this Fall from a script written by Tom Flynn. Evans is nearly done filming "Captain America: Civil War" and will jump from that production to "Gifted".

Webb is also attached to join Miles Teller on the Allan Loeb-scripted "The Only Living Boy In New York". Jeff Bridges and Rosamund Pike are in discussions to join the cast.

The project was setup at Fox Searchlight, but is moving to Fox 2000. Teller will play a recent college grad who learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. When he tries to stop it, he becomes involved with the woman as well.

Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa will produce with production starting sometime next year. Webb most recently helmed the pilot for the upcoming CBS series "Limitless" based on the Bradley Cooper film.
