News: "Jurassic World" Writer Going to "Skull Island"

by Ken Miyamoto on August 18, 2015

Jurassic World co-writer Derek Connolly is now attached to Jordan Vogt-Roberts' upcoming Kong: Skull Island at Legendary and Universal Pictures. Connolly will be handling a rewrite tweak for the film before it begins shooting in late October in Hawaii, Iceland, and Vietnam. Three other writers have written different drafts of the script; Max Borenstein (Godzilla), John Gatins (Flight), and Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler).

Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Corey Hawkins are set to star in the film, which tells the story of a team of explorers that venture into the mysterious, creature-laden island which is home of the king of the apes. The film is currently set for a March 10th 2017 release.

Connolly is repped by Verve and Ginsburg Daniels.
