The Cultural Arts Center in my community was an excellent venue for this photo assignment. There were no events the evening I of my field trip, the building and landscaping had decorative lighting, and the weather was cooperative- no rain.
Our assignment was to get familiar the camera’s ISO range to create photos without digital noise. No matter how high an ISO number I tried, my camera set-up didn’t produce any “ruined” picture results. I was shooting with a Nikon D850 with Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 G2 lens. What actually turned into my challenge was to find an ISO number that produced the feel of night, and not set the light sensitivity to the point where the scene looked like daytime. I was delighted to discover a setting that produces the star burst effect. I want to return here with my grand daughter to take a magical portrait. She loves sparkle!
I am puzzled by this photo. In this shot, a couple left the building and was walking down the entry way. I thought I would have one picture that included people. However, they have all but vanished from view. There is a slight smudge where the people should be right in front of white-barked clump of trees mid picture. They would probably go unnoticed if I didn’t know they should be there. Why is this?
