“Close Up” Humming in the Rain

It’s been a long time since we’ve experienced a long, slow, soothing rain. What a wonderful feeling to awaken “close up” to the sight, sound, and smell of RAIN! The critters on Glencoe Swale must have been just as excited; their calls, songs, and activity levels were markedly aroused by the precipitation.

Of the hundred or so photos I shot while observing moisture-inspired exuberance, these are my favorites…

“Close Up” of an Anna’s Hummingbird and raindrops.

Humming in the Rain

I’m humming in the rain
Just humming in the rain
What a glorious feelin’

I’m laughing at clouds
So dark up above

The sun’s in my heart
And I’m ready for love
Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place

I’ve a smile on my face
I walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Just hummin’,
hummin’ in the rain

  1. Just wonderful photos, Jane! And a perfect lyric to accompany them 😉 Rain is such a blessing after a dry spell, and I know you have sorely missed it. I hope your temps cool down again soon and the showers return to renew the landscape. What joy all of the creatures must have known in your wet world 😉 A beautiful post 😉

    1. Thank you for your lovely thoughts, WG. I’ve been away from my blog for a bit- we had a family reunion at our home. The occasion prodded us into action getting some of those get-around-to-its off the list! What a joy- first birthday for our little grand daughter!!!

Now it’s cooled down immensely, and rains have been rolling in off and on over the last couple of weeks.

I’m happy you enjoyed this post.

Will be catching up with your posts in the next few days.
      Take care-
