Here in the Willamette Valley, we lovingly call our corner of Oregon the “Banana Belt” because it rarely snows and the winter climate is comparatively mild to other regions in the state.
That is far from true this week. Temperatures have plummeted to way below freezing with windchill factors yesterday reaching only 5 degrees. We are getting a dose of what life has been like in most of the rest of the United State… to be sure.
