Hi Lisa-
The cool thing about the chairs is they were made by special education students at the local high school. The teacher of the class is remarkable… she helps the kids learn greenhouse and woodcrafting skills that they can put to use after graduation! The pride of craftsmanship is worn by all when they put the plants and yard furniture on sale the weekend before Mother’s Day each year.
Thank you for noticing the chairs… a story of joy inside joy… wouldn’t you agree?
Jane
Thank you Vernette.
Your “Joy” picture is wonderful! I also noticed a recipe on your blog for Avocado-Buttermilk soup; that sounds good! A favorite from my garden was Zucchini Soup.

Here’s the recipe my neighbor shared with me… now I will share with you:)
1/4 lb bacon
8 cups diced zucchini
2 carrots, sliced
2 cups vegetable broth
2 cups water
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/4 tsp pepper
salt to taste
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Put all ingredients together in a pot. Bring to boil; then simmer until tender. Cool. Put in a blender* (as much as it can hold at a time) to blend until creamy.
Reheat or freeze. It’s sure to be a favorite!!
*I use one of those hand-held blenders and blend right in the pot.
Beautiful! I love home grown veggies and try setting up a veggie garden every season….this was indeed a joyful shot!
